Hey girls! Lacie Mercer (yes, Mercer) here! I’m privileged to serve at Life Link Church as the Media Director and Jr High Ministry Director, along with my husband, James. I have a passion to see girls of all ages discover their passions! Me? I’m passionate about fashion, makeup, the arts, books, creatives, my husband, and my Jesus!
Nothing beats the look of a perfectly manicured hand, right? I absolutely love the feeling I have when I get a good manicure. It’s like, sure! I’ll be a hand model!
However, being a newlywed with a beyond crazy schedule, manicures are few and far between for this girl. I probably paint my nails once every other month or so. For me, it’s such a waste! I spend all this time painting coat after coat of the perfect shade on my nails, for what? Only to have my nails chip 3 days later in the scurry from home to work to practice to school to whatever function we have that night. No thanks.
I was “out and a boat” (a little Canadian cred to my hubster) one day and ran across Sally Hansen Nail Effects (http://sallyhansen.com/products/nails/nail-color/salon-effects-real-nail-polish-strips). Basically, they’re little nail polish strips that adhere to your nail. Literally, they’re the best nail solution I’ve found! There’s no dry time, they’re super easy to apply, and they last longer than normal polish! Nail Effects comes in a variety of patterns and solid colors as well.
I picked up a pack of the “Tri-bal it ON” for my latest pack. * Trend Alert * All things tribal are in, and have been for a while. Feathers, prints, headbands, beads…all of it! It’s super cute!
Anyways, I thought it would be fun to show you a few tricks I’ve found when applying Nail Effects!
Along with the pack of nail stickers, you’ll also need scissors. I also used my own nail file. The one that comes in the pack is just too little.
The pack comes with two mini packs (I’m assuming one for each hand). To make them last longer, I cut each strip in half. This way I don’t feel like I’m wasting and I get two wears out of one pack. If you wanted, you could use one pack for your nails and one for your toes!
After cutting a strip in half, place it on your nail and press. Rub down all the edges and use the tool provided to remove the excess around your nail and cuticle area. Then, file the excess strip off around the top of your nail.
Repeat until every nail is done and presto! You have a totally trendy manicure without the mess of wet polish or waiting for them to dry!
Well girls, I hope you’re a little inspired to spice up your nails with this little tutorial! Let me know what you try. Maybe post a picture of your finished product? Have fun!
